meet the director
Founder of BIGSHOW and creator of Harmony, Vonette Carter is a passionate director and communicator with a heart for connecting people through the performing arts. With over 30 years of experience in entertainment and the arts, she has seen how powerful performances can uplift, unite and inspire—and has dedicated her career to that mission.
Her journey has been shaped by work with leaders in Hollywood, Christian ministry, and education, including ABC-TV, PolyGram, USC, Saddleback Church, Cru, Boys & Girls Clubs, and Orange County schools. As an educator, nonprofit founder, and foster youth mentor, Vonette is especially driven to empower the next generation.
Guided by her faith in Christ. Vonette thrives on bringing creative visions to life with the goal of helping others discover their purpose and use their unique gifts for good—and for God.

The story
As a performing arts director, Vonette Carter waited expectantly each year for a Big Show idea that would stir her heart and mind. And without fail, the vision would arrive—clear, compelling and relevant.
In 2014, that vision became Harmony—the eighth annual Big Show, produced and performed in Orange County, California. Born out of a desire to address the growing divides in her community, Harmony reflected the awe and wonder of God’s creation and His heart for unity. With a cast of over 200, the show combined powerful visuals and breathtaking performances to deliver a timely and transformative message.
Audiences—young and old—were reminded that while each of us is uniquely created, we are all called to live together in peace and harmony. The show encouraged people to embrace their gifts, offer compassion, empathy and forgiveness, and experience hope and healing in our divided world.
Now, after a decade of prayerfully waiting on God’s timing, doors are opening. A gifted and passionate team is coming together—ready to bring Harmony to life as a professional production and bring its message to a wider audience.
